The Public Administration Select Committee has begun a post-legislative scrutiny inquiry into the impact and implementation of the Charities Act 2006.
The Committee is inviting sector figures to offer views on a variety of questions about the Act and how it has affected charities on the ground. The consultation closes at noon on Friday 14 September.
The questionnaire covers issues including the functions and funding of the Charity Commission, registration thresholds, whether there are too many charities, the effectiveness of the Charity Tribunal and of fundraising self-regulation, and the rules on political activity.
The PASC inquiry comes hot on the heels of Lord Hodgson’s review of the Charities Act 2006, and of the National Audit Office paper suggesting which aspects of the voluntary sector the Committee might want to look at next.

Incorrect link to 'consultation' and 'questionnaire' in above story (PASC instigates inquiry into Charities Act impact).
