Prince Harry’s charity Sentebale has announced that Oxfam's fundraising chief Cathy Ferrier will take over from Kedge Martin as chief executive in the spring.
Ferrier (pictured) is currently fundraising and supporter marketing director and deputy chief executive at Oxfam. She will join Sentebale in March 2012 when Martin leaves to take up an opportunity with another recently-launched organisation.
Martin said: “Sentebale is now confidently poised to enter the next phase of its journey. It is therefore time to hand over the role of CEO to a new leader for this next chapter and for me to take up my next challenge.”
Martin became the charity’s first full-time chief executive in 2009 having previously been chief executive of WellChild, where Prince Harry is also a patron.
Prince Harry set up Sentebale with Prince Seeiso, the younger brother of Lesotho’s king, in 2006 to help children in the country affected by Aids.
Baroness Lynda Chalker has also been appointed to Sentebale’s board of trustees. Between 1986 and 1997 she was the UK minister of state at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Other current positions include executive trustee at the Global Leadership Foundation and trustee of the Investment Climate Facility for Africa.
