At its 68th annual general meeting on 23 November the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) will welcome ten new members to its policy committee, three new board members and a new vice-convenor, subject to member approval.
Social worker, professor and chair of international public management at Edinburgh University, Stephen Osborne, has accepted his invitation to be proposed as vice-convener of the board for the next three years. Osborne will take over from Helen Tyrell, who will retire from the role at the AGM.
Osborne will be joined by three members of the policy committee to stand as board members. Richard Hamer of Capability Scotland, Carole Patrick or CVS Fife and Keith Legge of SYHA Hostelling Scotland will stand to take over from Kirsten Hogg, Penny Brodie and Lindsay Hall who will stand down as boardmembers.
Ten new members of the policy committee, which advises on policies reflecting the best interests of not-for-profit organisations in Scotland, will also be confirmed after their election by postal ballot ahead of the AGM. As vice-convenor, Osborne will also contribute to the committee.
