Hope and Homes for Children has announced that War Child CEO Mark Waddington will become its chief executive in October.
Since joining War Child in 2004, Waddingham increased the charity’s income base by 500 per cent.
Speaking of his new appointment he said Hope and Homes for Children was “an organisation that can be proud of what it has already achieved and in so doing can be excited by the vision it has set for itself to extend its reach and help even more children”.
He added: “I am very much looking forward to taking up the position of CEO and helping hope and Homes for Children to achieve this potential.”
Outgoing CEO Rick Foulsham CMG said: “I am delighted we have been fortunate to appoint Mark Waddington to succeed me. Mark has enormous experience of working in this sector and will bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the role.”
Hope and Homes for Children was founded in 1994 to reform outdated childcare systems in Central and Eastern Europe and Africa. In 2010 the charity closed seven institutions releasing more than 500 children and prevented 5,641 children being separated from their families and placed in institutions.
Founder Mark Cook OBE said Foulsham had “created the springboard for Mark Waddington to grow the charity”.
