The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has invited organisations to apply for funding to provide subsidised fundraising training on its behalf for small charities and community groups.

In an announcement made today, DCMS said that it was inviting the applications as part of delivering on a pledge it made on Local Charities Day on the 16 December 2016 to “provide funding for a further three years of subsidised fundraising training for small, local charities”.

The open application announced today will be for the DCMS to select at least one, or more, providers to deliver “the first two years” of fundraising training. The minimum grant size available to providers each year is £50,000. The total funding available is up to £200,000 over two years.

OCS said that organisations which are “a legally constituted civil society organisation which may, or may not, also have charitable status” and/or businesses with “a social mission or clear objectives in its corporate social responsibility policy towards increasing social action” could apply for the grants.

The first year of the grant will run between March 2017 and March 2018, with the second year running between April 2018 and April 2019.

Organisations interested in applying for the grant must complete and return an application form to DCMS by midday on 15 February 2017
