Director, Professional Governance Services Ltd
Beryl Hobson is the director of Professional Governance Services Ltd. She has worked at board level in three sectors – as a marketing director in the insurance industry, as chair of a primary care trust in the public sector and as a trustee and vice-chair in the voluntary sector.
She has a particular interest in how boards work and how their performance can affect the impact of their organisation. She has been a trustee of several charities and is currently vice-chair of Womankind Worldwide.
In her previous role as head of the large charities division at the Charity Commission, she worked with the boards of many high profile charities to improve governance. During her time at the PCT she developed a board assessment tool which was taken up across the strategic health authority area.
