Chair, National Childbirth Trust (NCT) from August 2013
Hobson is the chief executive at Professional Governance Services Ltd, a post she took in 2012 and chair at the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) starting from August 2013.
She has worked at board level in three sectors – as a marketing director in the insurance industry, as chair of a primary care trust in the public sector and as a trustee and vice-chair in the voluntary sector.
She has a particular interest in how boards work and how their performance can affect the impact of their organisation. She has been a trustee of several charities and is currently vice-chair of Womankind Worldwide.
In a previous role as head of the large charities division at the Charity Commission, she worked with the boards of many high profile charities to improve governance. During her time at the PCT she developed a board assessment tool which was taken up across the strategic health authority area.
