Director of public policy from June 2013
Karl Wilding joined NCVO in 2001 as a research assistant for its Almanac programme. He later became head of research and in 2011 took on responsibility for the policy team. In April 2013 he was announced as director of public policy to take over from Ben Kernigan who is joining the National Union of Students in June 2013.
He is a board member of St Alban’s Centre for Voluntary Service, an honorary visiting fellow teaching on Cass Business School’s MSc in voluntary sector management. He is also set to become a trustee of BB Group, whose programmes include BeatBullying and FutureYou.
He has a BA in geography from the University of Leeds (1992). His PhD at the same institution (1997) examined voluntary hospitals in Victorian Britain.
