Head of finance, Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust
Jackie Turpin joined the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust as head of finance in 2002. Her primary responsibility is to work with its investment committee to ensure that the Trust's £150m endowment is properly managed.
This includes co-ordinating with its investment managers and making sure that all its investments are properly screened against the Trust's strict ethical criteria.
When necessary she engages with companies of behalf of the trustees. More recently she has supported the Trust's move into mission-related investments. She is also responsible for overseeing the Trust's financial transactions and for preparing the annual accounts.
Before joining JRCT Jackie worked for a number of different companies and NGOs including Oxfam. She holds an MA in development economics from Manchester University and is a chartered accountant.
