Every trustee board has a chair, elected by the other board members. It is the chair’s responsibility to provide leadership to the board and to ensure that every trustee gives of his/her best and brings added value to the board.

Senior figures in civil society have been paying tribute to Lady Winifred Tumim CBE, former chair of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations from 1996 to 2001, who died suddenly last week.
