Celebrity giving campaign still months away

A celebrity-backed giving campaign announced by the NCVO in January to help combat the effects of the recession will not see the light of day until June or July.

At the beginning of the year NCVO said four or five months of planning had already gone into the campaign, which would be a caused-based advertising effort to get the public to donate £2 a month.

When PF checked on progress spokesman Grant Imlach said the campaign is "still on track" and the organisation is in the middle of a “time consuming” process of bringing in new partners with different views.

He would not commit to the campaign’s original ask level but said it is likely to remain focused on giving to different causal areas. He said: "NCVO just wants to get buy-in from other organisations.“We want to do it right and get the biggest impact. There is no point in doing it half-hearted."
