Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme 'too complex to have real impact'

Everyclick has denied reports of financial troubles at the company, suggesting instead that a campaign of mis-information is being waged.
Founder of the fundraising search engine, Polly Gowers, confirmed to PF that the company held an emergency general meeting in January, and that chief executive Mark Nall has stepped down from his post and a replacement is not being actively sought. None of these developments, Gowers said, indicates the company is in trouble.
She said Nall left the company “by mutual agreement” in February following a bereavement, but he retains a non-executive role on the Everyclick board. The January EGM, she said, was not concerned with funding shortages: “We are a company that has 140 shareholders, so if we want to do stuff we have to have EGMs and AGMs. I can assure you that Everyclick is well positioned in the current market to deliver on its promise to help charities fundraise.
“We have a very supportive team and bunch of shareholders. We have investors who are very significant, but I can’t tell you who they are.”
Gowers, who plans to announce some new developments next month, said false comments about Everyclick had been taken down from a website featuring an interview with her. “There is someone that is mischief making out there at the moment,” she said.Gowers will resume day-to-day responsibility for the company.
Since its launch Everyclick has raised more than £669,000 for thousands of UK charities.
