UK Border Agency opens £4.5m fund for refugee resettlement

The UK Border Agency is inviting charities to bid for European funding worth £4.5m to set up projects that assist in the resettlement of refugees through the Gateway Protection Programme.

Proposed projects, should last three years, and be involved in medical health assessments and travel arrangements for selected refugees to the UK, and sourcing and provision of accommodation and up to twelve months casework support to a minimum of 100 refugees per year.

The closing date to apply for funding is 21 April 2011.

The fund comprises £3m from the European Refugee Fund and £1.5m in UK Border Agency funding.
