Fundraising job market bounces back

The number of available fundraising jobs rose by 11 per cent last year, while average fundraising salaries rose by 2 per cent, according to the latest research.

The Kage Partnership’s annual Fundraising Salary Survey also reveals that managerial roles saw the largest salary rises, with corporate, trust and direct marketing roles all up by between 4 and 5 per cent.

Elsewhere, however, the findings were not so positive. Salaries decreased for two categories of fundraiser – major donor officers and community/regional managers – while corporate fundraising officer salaries remained static for a third consecutive year.

Over the course of the year the recruitment consultancy said it had received fewer junior vacancies, with these being replaced by an increase in internships, and that there was a shortage of candidates to fill an increased number of major donor vacancies.

The survey was based on 370 London-based fundraising vacancies at over 120 charities.
