Christian Aid integrates fundraising and campaigning

Christian Aid will integrate its fundraising and campaigning operations in an effort to treat supporters more holistically.

Ruth Ruderham told Civil Society that the charity has decided to create a ‘supporter engagement team’ within the fundraising department which will be charged with recruiting, developing and retaining all supporters – both campaigners and donors.

The restructure will involve some redundancies, but will also see new roles created within the charity. It is part of a wider restructure at Christian Aid.

“We are going to have an integrated approach now,” said Ruderham, adding that more charities are moving to a more integrated model.

“What was happening was that people who were doing the most for Christian Aid were essentially inundated with requests from lots of different teams, who looked at them from their own perspectives,” she said.

“This [change] means we will take a more 360-degree approach to our supporter management,” said Ruderham.
