The Make-A-Wish Foundation has received its largest-ever single donation - £702,158 – from Surrey businessman Andrew Reynolds.

Reynolds raised the money by selling tickets to an “Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp” held at London’s O2 arena recently. More than 7,500 people attended.

Make-A-Wish, based in Surrey, grants wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses across the UK.

The cheque, presented at the charity’s annual winter ball last weekend, brought Reynolds’ total fundraising for Make-A-Wish to £1,170,839. The charity needs at least £5m to grant wishes to all the 1,000 or so children that are expected to request them next year.

Make-A-Wish Foundation chief executive Neil Jones said: “Make-A-Wish is incredibly grateful to Andrew Reynolds and his entrepreneurial spirit – such a large donation is unprecedented.”

Reynolds (pictured) is a self-made millionaire working from Camberley.  He has made over £30m in ten years. He was voted Surrey Business Person of the Year 2007/8 and he recently gave his Bentley away to one of 7,500 attendees to his Entrepreneurs Bootcamp held in the O2 Arena in London.
