Missing People has secured a corporate partnership with a social network, opening the charity up to an audience of over 20 million.
Friends Reunited selected Missing People as its long-term charity partner, kicking off the partnership with a donation from the web company for an undisclosed amount.
The partnership will take the form of numerous dual-branded events, the first to be announced in January, and the promotion of the charity on Friends Reunited websites – which included Genes Reunited and Friends Reunited Dating – with a total audience of 20.6 million users.
Missing People was chosen as charity partner after a visit to the charity headquarters by Andy Baker, managing director of the Friends Reunited website, visited the charity’s headquarters whereupon he decided that the synergy between the brands warranted a tie-up.
Martin Houghton-Brown, chief executive of the charity, said that the partnership had “incredible” potential.
“[It] will open up the opportunities for us to grow a unique, and highly visible, corporate partnership,” he said.
