Two top fundraising directors have left long careers in charities to work in agencies.
Alan Gosschalk (pictured), six months into a new role as director of fundraising at Amref, has announced a move to BlueFrog as client services director. Gosschalk will be taking up his new position in January and said his position at Amref was an interim role.
Gosschalk told Civil Society that the move to the agency, his first foray into the sphere following a 20-year career within charities, is “a brilliant challenge”. He said his role at the agency would give him exposure to a lot more charities and that his work with BlueFrog from within charities in the past had given him confidence to take up a post within the firm.
Meanwhile, Matthew Sherrington has announced he will be the new strategy director at the Good Agency. Like Gosschalk, Sherrington will leave his position as director of fundraising and marketing at EveryChild at the end of the year and take up the new post in January. Sherrington too joins the consultant sphere after more than 20 years working within charities. The Good Agency said that he will bring an enhanced donor-centric focus to the company.
Sherrington has been at EveryChild since July 2007.
