The Woodland Trust is one of 25 charities to benefit from a free email marketing service.

The service, which is being funded by everyclick.com and delivered by Charity Technology Trust, allows the sector to make a number of free email marketing campaigns throughout the year. The first topic was New Year’s Resolutions and enabled individual charities to contact supporters with a specific message focused on this subject.

The Woodland Trust used the service to email 40,000 supporters and 18,000 schools, asking them to sign up to the everyclick search engine. Over a five-day period it increased the numbers of searches its supporters made on everyclick by more than 300 per cent.

The Woodland Trust also increased the number of regular everyclick users from 600 to more than 1,600 people. Everyclick is yet to confirm how much this extra activity will have raised for the charity.

Alicia Currie, e marketing manager at the Woodland Trust, said: “As a charity we benefit both financially and through increased awareness, keeping the Trust in the minds of our supporters.”
