Fundraising organisations across Europe have joined together to create a ‘super’ standard of fundraising qualification.
The framework, which has been developed by the European Fundraising Association, aims to create a shared set of fundraising principles that are recognised across the Continent.
“Only by establishing robust and professional standards can we build public trust in not-for-profit organisations and encourage philanthropy,” said Dr Marita Haibach, president of the EFA. “With the EFA qualification we aim to raise the bar in fundraising training and ultimately enable the European fundraising community to raise more money for the good causes they work for.”
Only fundraising qualifications that meet the EFA’s strict guidelines will be certified. So far, this includes those offered by the UK, Germany, France, Sweden and Hungary fundraising representative bodies.
The EFA Certification Programme was launched at the International Fundraising Congress on 22 October and has been developed with funding from the European Commission’s Leonardo da Vinci programme.
