Institute takes its policy advice social

The Institute of Fundraising is extending its policy helpline to Facebook and Twitter.

From this Friday the IoF’s policy helpline will be available on the first Friday of the month between 10am and 12 noon answering questions on its Facebook page and on Twitter by tweeting @iofweets and using the hashtag #iofhelps.

Last year the IoF’s policy helpline dealt with 1,500 phone enquiries and 1,200 email enquires, Susan Luxford, digital communications manager said: “Increasingly people use the internet to find help and advice when and where it suits them. So we wanted to explore and extend our services to make the best use of digital media to meet the precise needs of fundraisers.”

During 2013 it hopes to increase the frequency digital advice sessions from monthly to weekly and is also planning to add more videos, templates and resources to its main website.
