A three-year partnership with Zurich Community Trust will see Alzheimer's Society net £150,000 to pay for the charity's 'Singing for the Brain' music therapy service.
Announcing the charity partnership, which will provide £50,000 a year for the next three years from September, Zurich Community Trust representative Steve Grimmett said Zurich staff came to the decision given the choice of several charities supporting older people:
"Dementia among older is obviously an issue which resonates with Zurich employees and we will work closely with our new partner to provide meaningful volunteering opportunities which go well beyond the funding element of the partnership."
Azlheimer's Society joins Clic Sargent and Hope and Homes for Children as Zurich's third current national charity partner.
Over £1m is raised by Zurich employees for the Trust every year. The funding received by Alzheimer's Society will fund up to 200 Singing for the Brain sessions for 120 people living with Alzheimer's and their carers.

"Singing is not only an enjoyable activity, it can also provide a way for people with dementia, along with their carers, to express themselves and socialise with others in a fun and supportive group," says the charity.
