This week the Giving Card announced new partnership deals with Mind and with Pizza Hut as it relaunched its website to improve its online presence.
The point-of-sale discount card launched last November and since then more than 7,000 individuals have signed up. There are almost 80 charities the user can choose from to benefit including Mencap, RSPCA and Shelter.
Mind is the latest charity to sign up as a beneficiary of the scheme which means new card holders can choose the charity to receive a one-off £10 donation on signing up. Pizza Hut is the latest retailer offering a discount on main meals in selected restaurants for Giving Card users.
The card costs users £34.95 for a one-year membership and founder Dan Taylor said: “The aim is to reward people who want to support charities.”
Card holders can claim a range of discounts and offers from restaurants, retailers and services including Interflora, the Big Yellow Storage Company, the Slug and Lettuce and Enterprise rent-a-car.
Any registered charity can sign up to receive donations free of charge. Taylor added that he hoped it would provide charities with new income with “minimal effort”. Charities will receive the donation within four weeks of an individual signing up.
The Giving Card’s new website has integrated better search engine optimisation (SEO) for each charity’s page, the organisation advised.
