eBay continues to be a massive money-spinner for the likes of touts selling Michael Jackson tickets. But for the Institute of Fundraising, the online auction model has proved somewhat less lucrative.
Despite the cancellation of concerts and rumours of the Thriller singer's ill health, two pairs of front-row tickets with a face value of £75 have already reached £1,120 from a starting price of 99p, on the site.
The Institute, however, has had less luck with the Ebay ticket business. To promote its upcoming National Convention, the Institute offered one ticket worth £295 to the highest bidder. From a starting price of 99p the winning bid was £161, nearly half the amount of a full-price ticket.
Maybe they should have got Jacko in as a speaker?

It seems your missing the point? The ticket was obviously designed as a give away if the starting price was 99p. If anything it proves the interest if from that the selling price it went up into the hundreds. I don't think any charity would consider bidding for something and paying the same price or more for a Convention pass. This after all not a Jacko gig so is it really even worth comparing ?
