Charities in Twitter storm over balloon releases
24 May 2012
Charities are being urged to abandon balloon releases in a Twitter a campaign.
Views, a new online platform which allows organisations to demonstrate the value and outcomes of their work has launched, with support from Acevo, Catch 22, Nesta, Social Investment Business and BT.
Matthew Pike, chair of Views, says organisations can capture different kinds of data, such as media files and survey statistics, through the service, and organise them in a way that can be analysed and reported:
“It also has statistical tools which allows analysis and comparison with other organisations,” he said.
Views also allows the use of social media tools, such as YouTube and Flickr, and will include an app stores which will allow developers to host their outcome measure tools.
Some 300 organisations have been involved in the prototype of Views. BT is introducing local authorites to the platform, while Social Investment Business is promoting it to investors.
