Charities are being urged to abandon balloon releases in a Twitter a campaign.
The Henry Smith Charity has invested £500,000 into CAF Venturesome’s Development Fund.
The Henry Smith Charity joins other charitable grantmakers, including The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and The Tudor Trust, who have invested in CAF Venturesome.
Venturesome’s Development Fund provides patient capital to support charities building capacity so that they can achieve more social impact.
To date it has committed more than £18 million to over 250 organisations.
John Kingston, director of Venturesome (pictured) said, "We are excited that the Henry Smith Charity, which has been combating poverty for over 350 years, has invested in our Development Fund. It’s great that they are supporting social investment and see the opportunities this offers charities looking to build to achieve more."
