Labour has called upon the government to provide a £1m research fund for charities to develop policy...
The Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has commissioned a study on how technology can be used to make the gift aid process more manageable.
The study, which will be released this summer, is to be carried out by public policy think-tank ResPublica, and will explore the opportunities to modernize tax-effective charitable giving and set out practical solutions.
The research team will capture expertise and knowledge from the charity sector and government and will also involve relevant experts from technology, economic and political arenas.
John Low (pictured), chief executive of CAF, said: “We support the recent government exploration of more radical structural changes, such as introducing composite rate, but have always believed that we also need modernisation of a system through the intelligent use of technology to provide long-term and sustainable support to the sector.”
