The Social Investment Business has received loan requests to the tune of over £500m over the last 12 months, according to its first impact report Investing in the future.
The report reveals that in the last 12 months the SIB has received over 3,000 applications totalling more than £500m.
By 31 December 2009, the Office of the Third Sector Futurebuilders Fund, managed by SIB, had made over 370 investments worth almost £150m.
This support has helped civil society organisations win £46.2m of public service contracts from April to December 2009.
Jonathan Lewis, chief executive of SIB said: “We are proud of what we have delivered so far…..We want to build on our success by attracting more money in to the sector, so that we can help more organisations do more of what they do best.”
