Charities are being urged to abandon balloon releases in a Twitter a campaign.
The Methodist Church has come under fire for investing in oil companies, environmental enemy no.1.
Its defence rests on the power of engagement –it’s better to work on the environmental policies from the inside out - influencing behaviour and demanding change with their stakeholder vote.
A strong argument – glossing over the tidy profit it makes from these investments.
So is their strategy valid? Does a leopard ever change its spots? Or is the Methodist Church in danger of becoming the weary partner, futilely hoping an irreparable spouse can change?
