Charities in Twitter storm over balloon releases
24 May 2012
Charities are being urged to abandon balloon releases in a Twitter a campaign.
Aberlour, the largest charity operating only in Scotland, has appointed property advisers King Sturge to help it manage its 46 existing properties and acquire new ones.
Aberlour provides residential and outreach support to disabled people, families of children with physical and mental disabilities or behavioural problems, and people affected by drug use.
Initially, King Sturge will carry out condition surveys of all the homes and centres, including esbestos reports and water hygiene risk assessments. It will also help Aberlour buy four or five new sites over the next five years as it seeks to capitalise on the low prices created by the recession.
