The Adventure Capital Fund (ACF) and Futurebuilders England are to rebrand themselves as the Social Investment Business in order to bring their various funds and programmes together under one identity.
ACF has stressed that a new company is not being formed and that the current structure for managing the funds and programmes it and Futurebuilders are responsible for will remain the same.
ACF will remain the parent company for Futurebuilders England. Between them they administer funds worth £409.5m, including the Office of the Third Sector’s (OTS) Futurebuilders Fund, the Department of Health’s Social Enterprise Invesment Fund, the Cabinet Office’s Modernisation Fund and the DCLG and OTS’s Communitybuilders Programme.
The new name will be introduced gradually over the next couple of months, with full details of the funder’s aspirations to be announced at a conference in September.
ACF is expected to bid to run the proposed Social Investment Wholesale Bank should the initiative be given the go ahead.
