Full cost recovery guide for funders

A guide to help third sector funders implement full cost recovery has been launched by the Big Lottery Fund and acevo. The report, Mind the Gap, includes case studies from organisations which have already implemented full cost recovery. It can be downloaded at www.acevo.org.uk

Help make finance count

Charities have been invited to participate in a financial benchmarking study designed for the voluntary sector. For more details on Finance Count see www.financecount.com

Charity funds recover

Charity funds enjoyed a good third quarter, according to the latest results from WM, gaining 3.5 per cent as equity and bond market values more than recovered the losses suffered during the second quarter. For the year to date, the average charity fund has achieved a return of just over 7 per cent. See charity fund management survey on page 16.

Public service delivery review

The Charity Commission has commenced a consultation on its new draft guidance Charities and Public Service Delivery. The consultation runs until Friday 5 January and is available on the Commission's website at www.charitycommission.gov.uk/enhancingcharities/consultcc37.asp. The revised guidance will be published in February.
