Charities should focus on their corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity, in particular their environmental credentials, argues Jon Jorgensen. There is no avoiding the issue that charities are feeling the pinch as the economic downturn sees less funding available from donations combined with the impact of rising inflation on costs. Attracting funding is more critical now than ever before, meaning charities need to stand out from the crowd. Those donors that can afford to continue to lend their support will be looking not only at charities that are close to their heart, but also those that are proactive in their approach.
