Biman Mittra is the finance director for Coram, with responsibility for managing the foundation's endowment, finance, IT, HR and estates.
A graduate of University College London and postgraduate studies at Trinity College Cambridge, he trained as a chartered accountant with what is now Deloitte before being seconded to corporate finance and M&A with Goldman Sachs.
He then moved into commercial property development as a finance director, working with City institutions on project lending, syndicated loans and an AIM listing.
Subsequently, Biman became the founder and CEO of a number of technology companies in the UK, US, India and China.

With 270 years of serving the needs of children behind it, Coram has ambitious development plans for its central London site Biman Mittra explains. The Thomas Coram Foundation, known as Coram, is a progressive children’s charity, founded by Royal Charter in 1739. Its founder, Captain Thomas Coram supported by many illustrious patrons of the day, built the Foundling Hospital “for the Maintenance and Education of Exposed and Deserted Children”. The institution was well ahead of its time in the scope of its ambition to provide a nurturing environment, education and health care for children, many of whom would otherwise have faced neglect or death.
