Gareth Jones finds out about the work of the Money Advice Trust. While the decision to profile an organisation dedicated to helping people cope with debt was not one taken in isolation, there is nevertheless an unerring timeliness to my meeting with Joanna Elson, chief executive of the Money Advice Trust. Earlier in the day the government announced its rescue plan for the banks, though the sort of loans we will be discussing are on an altogether smaller scale. Indeed, even the Trust's Business Debtline mainly deals with those who use their personal finances to subsidise their business, because if they are any larger they will usually have an accountant for advice.
