Justin Davis Smith

Executive director of volunteering from early 2013

Justin Davis Smith is executive director of volunteering at NCVO, having previously been chief executive of Volunteering England before the two umbrella bodies merged at the end of 2012.

With over 20 years in the volunteering movement Justin has a wealth of experience and has been an adviser to the UK government, World Bank and the UN on volunteering.

He was formerly director of the Institute for Volunteering Research and is also a trustee of the youth volunteering charity v and former chair of the Nationwide Foundations.

He was a member of the Commission on the Future of Volunteering and worked with the UK government and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (Locog) to develop its 2012 volunteering strategy.
