Grant Thornton's Not for Profit Group Wins Prestigious Audit Team of the Year Award

Grant Thornton's national Not for Profit team last night won 'Audit Team of the Year 2010' at the Accountancy Age Awards held at the Battersea Park Events Arena.

On collecting the award, Carol Rudge, Head of the Not for Profit team said: "This is a fantastic result for the national Not for Profit team and is a reflection of our passion for the sector. Strong team work and an understanding of our client's needs, has led to significant growth for the team.'"

The Not for Profit team covers three main areas including charities, education and social housing acting for 700 clients per sector with total income of £70bn. The team is a top three auditor by number of clients in each area including some of the largest organisations in the country. This position was further consolidated in 2009/10 with the highest number of new audit appointments in higher education, second highest in charities and twice the total new fees of any of the nearest competitors in social housing.

Commenting on choosing the Grant Thornton team, the Accountancy Age awards judges said "GT's team were well ahead of the rest and had carved out a strong niche. They appear to be extremely well regarded and have won a substantial amount of new business".
