The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) is the independent registrar and regulator for Scotland’s 23,500 charities.
Formerly an executive agency, after the passing of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 it became a non-ministerial department, independent of ministerial control and answering to the Scottish Parliament.
Jane Ryder was initially appointed in December 2003 to establish OSCR, and was reappointed as chief executive in December 2006. She was succeeded by David Robb in October 2011.
