Charity Tax Group (CTG) is a membership organisation that campaigns on behalf of charities to seek changes in tax legislation and administration.

Formerly known as the Charities’ Tax Reform Group (CTRG), it has over 400 organisational members of all sizes representing all types of charitable activity.

It attempts to find new ways of helping the sector benefit from tax reliefs, works to protect existing, under-threat reliefs, and tries to reduce the sector’s VAT bill, among other things.

The CTG was set up in 1982. Its chairman is John Hemming and director is Helen Donoghue.
