Nacro is a crime reduction charity, which tries to make society safer by finding practical solutions to fighting crime. Nacro works with ex-offenders to help them re-integrate and disadvantaged communities, tackling social exclusion to build a society of equality and to help those people build a positive future without crime.
It provides a helpline offering information and advice to ex-offenders and serving prisoners as well as vocational training and support in its centres to encourage people back into education and employment.
Nacro provides housing services, including resettlement support, housing advice in the community and prisons, rent deposit schemes, family projects, support for housing association tenants or those in lodgings and mediation for disputing neighbours.
Nacro works with criminal justice agencies, providing policy development, information and consultancy services for those who have influence over mental health needs across the criminal justice, health and social care sectors.
Nacro has over 200 projects across England and Wales. 60,000 people benefit directly from its work each year.
