Comic Relief is a charity battling poverty throughout the world. It provides grants and social investments aimed at delivering real and long-lasting change to the poorest and most vulnerable people, as well as educating the public about global citizenship and the underlying causes of extreme poverty.

Within the UK it works with young people suffering from mental health issues, alcohol problems and exploitation, gives old people a voice and tackle isolation, abuse and neglect, offers advice and support to young victims of domestic violence and supports refugees and Asylum Seekers who have been through traumatic ordeals, helping to build community links.

Internationally, Comic Relief works with communities suffering with HIV and AIDS, helps those affected by conflict, fights injustice and debt in the trade industry, tackles poverty in urban slums, works with women and girls to tackle inequality, violence, abuse and make their voices heard, and despite Comic Relief’s main focus being in long-term development, it also offers help when urgent action is required by organisations it already supports.

Its work ranges from within the UK to worldwide, young people to elderly people, and mental health to domestic violence.
