Mencap works with people with learning disabilities to change laws and services, challenge prejudice and directly supports thousands of people to live the lives they choose, offering help to get a job, take a college course, or live independently. It offers advice in subjects such as respite care, individual budgets and transport services. Mencap runs residential and day-care services for people with learning disabilities and their families, and supports them in taking active roles in their communities.

Mencap campaigns and lobbies government to change laws so that people with learning disabilities can have equality and have control of their own lives.
