WRVS is a charity dedicated to improve the lives of older people, by offering a range of practical services to help and support such individuals, maintain their independence and play a part in their local community.

It helps older and housebound people to lead full and active lives, assisting with daily challenges such as shopping, and helping them to regain the confidence to become more independent, to emergency support.

WRVS provides support in hospitals, from shop and trolley services to regular company. It also raises funds for much-needed hospital equipment, and gives professional support to the blue-light services and the public in emergency situations, such as floods, fires, rail disasters and evacuations.

It works in partnership with other charities and organisations, local authorities and the NHS, supporting communities throughout England, Scotland and Wales.
