Victim Support is a charity aimed at helping anyone affected by crime – victims, witnesses, friends and family. Operating separately from the police and government agencies, Victim Support provides confidential support and information, as well as providing a witness service at court, across England and Wales.
The witness service is there to provide information and support before, during and after a court case for both the prosecution and defence. This includes information on what to expect in court, a quiet place to wait, practical help regarding claiming of expenses and much more. The charity also provides comprehensive support for children during this time.
Victim Support has helped over 25 million victims and witnesses in its 35 years and counting.
Income April 2009 - March 2010: £51,779,000
